What is a pole syringe used for?
A pole syringe allows the user to administer treatment while working at a greater distance from an animal. It can be useful where animals are difficult, dangerous or impractical to approach closely.
What makes up a complete pole-syringe setup?
A working setup generally combines a pole, syringe and Luer Lock needle, with an adaptor or accessory where required. The exact combination depends on the equipment and application.
Should I choose a telescopic or modular pole?
Telescopic poles offer adjustable reach for field and cattle applications. Modular poles are compact, making them suited to smaller spaces, cages and easier transport.
Which syringe sizes are available?
Inyathi offers reusable nylon syringes in 5 ml, 10 ml and 20 ml sizes, plus a 2.5 ml syringe system for smaller-volume applications.
How do I choose the right needle?
Needle choice can depend on the animal, skin thickness, muscle mass, medication characteristics and intended injection depth. Use the Needle Guide or ask Inyathi if you are unsure.
Can I replace individual components?
Yes. Replacement outer syringes, silicone O-rings, lubricant, adaptors and other parts are available, helping you maintain the equipment you already use.
Is a pole syringe also called a jab stick?
“Jab stick” is another term used in the industry for this type of equipment. Inyathi uses “pole syringe” as its primary terminology.
